The context
The brand launched with a striking illustration: a surreal matador set in a lush, tropical environment. Visually compelling, but without a story to support it, the design lacked coherence. There was no connection between the artwork, the gin, or the brand’s identity, leaving consumers unsure of what the product stood for, and making it difficult to build a memorable, ownable world around it.

The idea
To give meaning to the illustration, the character was brought to life as Señor M, a mysterious figure at the centre of Ibisensa Gin’s origin story. By imagining the world he inhabits, the brand could evolve beyond a single visual and into a surreal narrative universe that felt both intentional and immersive.

The creation
Señor M became the storyteller and the spirit-maker. His journey through Ibisensa unfolded as a layered tale, where illustration meets poetry, and absurdity meets craft. The narrative was built out across motion, language, and design, turning a static image into a living, breathing world that reflects the gin’s botanical complexity and bold character.
